  • Social Raft up

The purpose of the Hillsboro Inlet Sailing Club is to develop, encourage, and stimulate an interest in sailing in the Hillsboro Inlet area. It is our responsibility to promote fellowship and camaraderie among sailors in our club, among sailors in the area and among our guests.

With more than 80 events each year, members have a variety of activities in which to participate. You do not have to own a sailboat to be a member.

The activities include many sailboat races followed by a casual after race party, about 20 cruising events to South Florida anchorages and marinas with a Host boat organizing fun, theme-based social activities and we annually schedule two formal dinner dances and a picnic. HISC offers a youth sailing program that provides sailing and boating safety training to children
between the ages of 8 and 18. Over the past 20 years we are proud to have trained hundreds of children in
small sailboat handling and safety issues.

Join the fun and the adventure! HISC has a monthly meeting on the second Thursday of each month at the Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club. These meetings start as an informal social event with a cash bar at 7:00 PM. The business meeting begins at 7:30 PM. After the adjournment of the business meeting there are special programs designed to entertain, inform, and enlighten our members and guests. It is easy to become a guest – just drop in!

  3. It is sad to hear of Mary Wells’ death. Brenda and I met Mary when we joined HISC in 2004. Mary “interviewed” us to approve the membership. I also remember racing against her when she handled the mainsheet on Blue Runner. What a nice lady. I will not forget her.

  4. Looking forward to the General Meeting on October 13th, we have a great program thanks to Ken White. Need to know what the weather has in store? Make sure you miss the bad weather by not missing this great program.

  5. Just noticed on Club Calendar here says July meeting on 14th. Think Commodore said at meeting last night July meeting pushed back to July 21. Can anyone clarify?

  6. Thanks, and thanks to everyone who has been active on the Facebook page. This is a great place for people to learn more about the club!
