Race Survey Results

Thank you to the boat owners who responded to the Race Survey. Your feedback will help us shape the Race plans for 2026 and beyond. Read the results and read on to see how this has shaped the plans for 2026.

17 boat owners responded.

Should trophies only be given out for 1st place boats in series races?

  • 7 want trophies for 1-3 each race and for series overall.
  • 6 want trophies for 1st only per race and 1-3 for series overall.
  • 4 want only overall.
  • 0 dislike dusting their trophies (but do they really do the dusting?)

Like or dislike the wall plaque idea from 2025

  • 9 liked them.
  • 8 N/A

Would you like fewer Spring/Falls series races?

  • 15 keep at 8 each.

Would you like longer courses for Spring/Fall Series?

  • 12 current mix is good.
  • 5 want longer if weather allows it.

Start races south of HI?

  • 4 Nope
  • 11 open to trying a few.
  • 2 move south.

Should we invite other sailing clubs to participate in our series on a few basis?

  • 3 Nope, join the club.
  • 14 pay to play.

After race parties on Monday or Tuesday after the race?

  • 5 same day (please step up to be After Race chairperson!)
  • 12 yes

Do you prefer short or long course races?

  • 9 Mix of course.
  • 3 Long course
  • 5 several short course on a day

Series races remain at 8 races each. If weather conditions force us to cancel, we will do our best to reschedule. However, if we cannot complete all eight races, the series will be scored based on the races that have taken place.

We will race with JAM as our class for Series races and our PHRF/Club rating for coastal races. We will give out 1st place trophies for each series race and overall, 1,2,3.

We will use virtual marks, and we will provide all racers with a list of the coordinates at the March racing meeting. The list will also be online.

Discussions have already occurred with the officers at SSSF and GSC concerning race invites and calendars are being shared. More boats equal more competition and hopefully more fun. We have already teamed up with PBSC and Castaways for a few races.

We will run a few series races to the south of HI and see how they work.

We will be having some type of race each month of the year. We offer a variety of enjoyable races and encourage sailors of all skill levels and experience to participate.
