Moving our website
We have been working diligently on bringing our club's website up to a new standard.
Prior to this year ( 2023 ) we had disparate resources to manage our club and web presence. We used Drupal for our website thanks to Past Commodore Dale Kern, Dale also setup our Club's CRM to manage our membership data. Our Email communications were through Google Groups, our Photo Galleries were hosted on Smug Mug. Then our Payment systems were managed via PayPal. All of these resources were stand alone! When we welcomed a new Member, we had to add their information to the CRM, Google Groups and the Website in order for those members to be able to access Member only benefits and to help the leadership team ensure that members got the most out of the club.
This year we have been making a concerted effort to combine the systems into a streamlined, efficient and effective tool.
After reviewing several online systems, we chose "Springly.org" a not-for-profit system that integrates almost everything that we had in the disparate system of before.
If you look around the new site, you'll see that we have some new features but we have many more that are available to our club management team.
I hope that you like what we have done and that you'll interact with it often. To encourage that we have introduced several Blog areas on the site. Each of our club's main areas of interest now have their own blogs. Racing, Cruising, Social, Youth Sail and this blog which will cover general topics of interest as our club continues to grow.
The Blogs will provide resources to grow our club's newsletter - The Inlet Outlet Newsletter.
Over the next few weeks, we will complete the shift to the new site and everyone will be invited to update their membership profile.
Exciting stuff.
