Holiday Party Cruise 2025

Doing something different this year, the Social Committee arranged for a Cruise on the Musette.

We all started to arrive at the dock in Hollywood just south of Sterling Road, plenty of parking and the early birds were aboard and making sure the Bar was kept busy.

A relaxed party atmosphere with plenty of room to enjoy  the company of our fellow club members, but we were not alone, a few members of other local sailing clubs joined us.

On the lower deck was the Bar and table seating. Members brought their supply of cookies, lots of cookies! Some were off my tasting list - but those I could sample were excellent. I did notice that Jeff Keiser's Oatmeal cookies were disappearing fast. They were that good!

The crew kept on navigating around the boat with tray's of nibbles: Meat balls, Stuffed Mushrooms, Shrimp and more. Delicious. Some guests wanted more, but others made the most of them.

On the middle deck was the dance floor and the outdoor foredeck area. The dance floor was not ignored, standard for our club, there's always a few that want to cut a rug.  The foredeck had plenty of room to stand and chat or sit and share sea stories. We had a great view of the ICW as we headed south from Hollywood past several bridges, not a lot of holiday decorations, weird, there are more in our neighborhood of Margate.

Top deck was a more peaceful location to view the shores of the ICW and more seating to sit and chat - is that expected ( Ha Ha!) put a couple of sailors together and their tongues start wagging.

There's a bunch of pics on the club Social photos page and on the club facebook page.

Several members spoke with me and agreed that the cruise was a great idea. I'm of that opinion myself. Peggy & Really enjoyed the whole event. We could have had another hundred guests without an issue, the boat is huge. The crew were bright and cheerful, very helfpful.

Totally enjoyed our first club cruise on a big boat.
