Ten things you should know about the 2023 Fall Youth Sailing program

1. Registration for the Fall session of Youth Sailing will open on August 19th at our Landlubbers Party. (The Landlubbers party is held in place of a General Meeting in August). If you can't attend the party, you may send your completed & signed forms to: hiscyouthsailing@gmail.com any time after that date.

2. The Fall session of Youth Sailing begins October 14th. Each session consists of 4 Saturdays from 9a-12n. The children will generally get 2-3 hours of time out on the water. This is a great opportunity for the kids to get acquainted with sailing in small boats. FALL DATES: Oct 14, 21, 28 & Nov 4th (Weather makeup date - Nov 11th).

3. Members may enroll any number of their children or grandchildren in youth sailing at no cost. However, space is limited and pre-registration is required.

4. Enrollment is offered first to club members.

5. After September 15th, if there is still space, we will promote the youth sailing program to the general public.

6. Non-club members pay $75 per child, per session. Once a session begins, there are no refunds.

7. The HISC youth sailing program is non-profit and completely volunteer operated.

8. The instructors are club members, who have obtained their U.S Sailing Instructor Certification.

9. HISC owns a fleet of 14 small sailboats: 6 Optimist Prams and 8 O'pen Skiffs. This means we can accommodate approximately 20 youth sailors per session.
