We could KNOT do this without you.
Volunteering is a way to give back, make a difference and create a more compassionate and supportive club. Its true the more you give, the more you receive.
The Fall Session of Youth Sailing begins on October 15th and lasts four consecutive Saturdays from 9a-1p at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach. If you'd like to volunteer, contact Jamie Remacle @ 954-448-0033 or Barry Simmons @ 305-319-0873 for more information. You may come for one day or all four.
Volunteering can be a deeply rewarding experience for several reasons.
1. It allows you to make a positive impact on the lives of others and contribute to your community that you care about. HISC created a youth sailing program to generate interest in this sport for future generations. As Jerry Lewis always said, "Do it for the kids".
2. It also provides you with a sense of fulfillment, purpose and personal growth as you learn new skills, gain valuable experiences and broaden your perspective. If you want to refresh or learn some sailing skills yourself, come learn along side the kids. While the adults are not permitted to sail the boats, much can be learned by helping them with rigging or knot tying.
3. Additionally, volunteering can help you build meaningful connections with other sailors in the club thus expanding your network. Youth sailing is supported by many HISC members! Our US Sailing certified instructors are Jim Wallace and Josh Dorval. Coaching is provided by Bill Bratt, David Burdett, Carlton Crawl, Geoff Jarvis, Dale Kern and Mike Megarity. Plus equipment set up and support by Paul Chasse, Jamie Remacle and Barry Simmons. And last but not least, the parents of these kids are mostly club members.
So we invite you to join us!
